The Well City Challenge

Early 2023, the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia is relaunching an innovation competition called the Well City Challenge (WCC): Community Solutions for Heart and Mind Health. The WCC will identify and support everyday innovators who apply and submit ideas or early-stage business plans that represent creative, promising, and scalable community-based health solutions to address conditions in their environment that limit heart and mental health care. Prior to launching, the WCC team hosted several community listening sessions across Philadelphia to hear their perspectives about specific challenges they face, and the solutions they'd be looking for. This information helped to shape the sub-categories of the Challenge, in which top applicants will be selected for. Successful applicants will get access to a network of experts and mentors to help develop their business idea. Finalists will be connected to investors, health care systems, and other organizations to help the idea take off. Multiple participants will win $10,000 prizes and one or more participants will win a grand prize of $50,000!
